Our company's history begins with the entrepreneurial vision of Erminio Gianesini, who, drawing on his military experience, recognized the importance of transportation as a strategic sector. From the trade of food products to entering the public transport sector, and finally specializing in freight transport, his determination and ability to anticipate market needs laid the foundation for a solid and ever-growing company.
Over the years, Gianesini has evolved, expanding its network and consolidating its position in international markets. From the tank transport service of liquid chemical products to its expansion into sea and air freight, the company has always been able to innovate and meet the challenges of global logistics.

A logo, a century of history
To celebrate Gianesini's 100th anniversary, we have chosen to refresh our logo with a subtle restyling that preserves its historical identity while introducing elements to celebrate this important milestone. The addition of the "100" represents our centennial journey and our desire to continue to grow, maintaining strong roots and always looking to the future.
We have also introduced a new pay-off, which embodies our mission: to offer modern and tailored solutions adapting to market challenges, just as we have done since 1924.
From the origins to today
1924
The birth of Gianesini Ermino company
After the First World War, Erminio Gianesini worked in the trade of food products and third-party transport. On the 1st of January 1924 he officially registered his company in Idria Superiore (today in Slovenia), sensing the opportunities offered by the mining sector in the area.
1944 – 1945
The transport company moves to the city in Gorizia
In 1944-1945, during the Second World War, Erminio Gianesini moved the headquarters of the transport business from Idria to Gorizia, next to his home. In the square behind the house, the trucks, buses, and a mechanical workshop were placed, marking a new chapter for the company.
1959 – 1977
An increasingly qualified transport company
In 1959, the company began to carry out the tank transport service of liquid chemical products, becoming a leader in the industry. In 1967, the company moved to the current headquarters in San Gabriele street, and in 1977 it become a limited liability company.
1983 – 1988
Conquering new markets
In 1983, the Gianesini Erminio SRL company obtained the authorization to operate as a shipping company, expanding its business towards Central Eastern Europe. In 1988, the transport of powdery products with autosilos began, and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the company expanded towards the Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
1989 – current days
The success of the company
Since 1989, the company began to expand its services all across Europe, opening branches in Modena (1996) and Milan (2001). In 1998, we inaugurated the air and sea departments, in 1999, we obtained authorization as customs operators, and in 2009, we obtained the Authorized Economic Operator AEOF certification. The expansion continues with the opening of the branch office in Trieste (2017) and, since 2019, with the arrival of the fourth generation.

Moments, faces, stories: snapshots of our identity
Erminio Gianesini, born in 1889 in the province of Padova, gained experience in transportation during World War I, serving as a Sergeant Major in the Motor Division of the 22nd Artillery Regiment. After the War, he understood the importance of the emerging transport sector, and he moved to Gorizia and started his own business.
In 1925, Erminio Gianesini began managing also the public transport lines. He will have under concession this service for about 20 years. Along the public line “Idria-S.Lucia Tolmino” he transported people, goods, and mail every day, gradually expanding the fleet and the number of passengers.
After the Second World War, Erminio Gianesini emigrates to Venezuela with his sons Nino and Gastone. He left loading also the buses on the ship. He settled in Caracas, where he managed a public transport service, but a coup d'état will force him to return to Italy in 1948.
Upon returning from Venezuela, Erminio Gianesini specialized in the transport of goods. In 1949, established a service for the groupage transport between Gorizia-Trieste and Milan, and in 1950, he opened agencies and branches in several cities in Northern Italy.
Not only goods transportation. At the origin, we also transported people. One of the lines covered was the Idria - St. Lucia d'Isonzo, with crossroad for Zelin and Circhina, where there were employed 3 or 4 vehicles, with an amount of 50 thousand of passengers transported per year. The image shows an extract from the bus service timetable for the provinces of Trieste – Gorizia – Udine – Rijeka - Pula, from April 1936.
It all started when Erminio Gianesini gave life to the transport company in Idrija (today in Slovenia). The image shows the first document attesting the beginning of our activity on the 1st of January 1924.
2024 is a special year: we celebrate 100 years of company history together with all the employees, who are always by our side.
