The “Ever Given” adventures nears end. The container ship that blocked the Suez Canal is to be set free.

The Suez Canal Authority has announced the release of the ship (after 106 days) on next Wednesday 7th July, thanks to the agreement reached with the owner, the Japanese company Shoei Kisen. After the accident, in fact, the ship had not been released pending the compensation agreement for damages caused to the canal. Cairo had demanded $US 916 million in compensation before lowering the request to $US 550 million. Finally, an agreement has been reached and the “Ever Given” will be able to leave the channel. A ceremony for the signing of the settlement will be held, and the ship will be allowed to depart. It will probably sail to Rotterdam.
