Italy suspended the weekend bans for trucks. According to the decree signed by Italian Transport Minister Paola De Micheli, weekend bans for trucks are suspended also in Italy, similarly to Spain, starting from Sunday 8 November. Specifically, on Sunday 15 and Sunday 22 November, bans for trucks exceeding 7.5 tonnes are suspended. For international transportations, it is suspended until further notice. Given the need to support the transport system, the ministry explains that this decision is necessary to deal with the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. It also points out that weekend bans would have no point any longer if the movement of citizens is strictly limited.

It must be borne in mind that Italy is divided into three specific zones - yellow (low risk), orange (medium risk) and red (high-risk), - under new covid-19 restrictions. These three areas are subjected to limitation and prohibitions. Transit through the territories is allowed if necessary to reach further territories that are not subject to movement restrictions (yellow zones). While, in orange and red zones, you can only move in case of proven work, health and emergency cases, which must be indicated in the self-certification form.
